Fashion Post - be afraid, be very, very afraid! (photos at end)

Okay, I'm not really the fashion person around here. For years I never really cared much about fashion...and even when I did start caring, I was able to find a bunch of cool stuff at thrift stores. Love. Thrift Stores. Of course, along with shirts and skirts I also found lots of non-clothing items to clutter up my room. *sigh* I'm still working on ridding myself of some of those treasures...  (sarcasm?)

Anyway, when I'm...
a. bored
b. should be doing something else, but not doing it
c. other
...I browse Etsy. And I recently discovered barefoot sandals. Absolute fascination. (not really, I just like to say "fascinating"!) They are so cool! I mean, check these things out! I love the colorful ones (though Mom says they look hippie-ish :p) and the more delicate "wedding" ones. Now I just have to find a beach to wear them at...

Yes, they are kind of pointless - they decorate, but do not protect, your feet. But necklaces and bracelets are for decoration, not protection, as well...  (although some ginormmous necklaces / bracelets and certainly rings could most likely be used as a weapon...mwahahaha) By the way, if you know how to crochet, there are a ton of free crochet patterns for barefoot sandals on the internet. I mostly knit, though.

I also looked at "slave bracelets", bracelets that are made up of a loop that goes around the finger and attaches a bracelet around the wrist. Though they look potentially obnoxious, I'd love to get one (or make one!?) that has a little cross on it since we are, after all, bondservants of Jesus Christ! (that's actually not the same as being a slave though :D)

Well there you go, a fashion post.  Be afraid, be very, very afraid...  (I have no clue if that's a quote from something or just an expression, or simply something my family says. :))

Update:
I have a bunch of posts that I have saved in draft so that I can pull them out when I need them. Therefore, I wrote this one a few days ago, and since then, I have made progress on the barefoot sandals!

I also made these...

Sorry for the excess of photos, I was enjoying the use of my mom's camera (which at the moment works better than mine). :)

I am hoping to sell some of my barefoot sandals in the future, let me know if you're interested.  Unfortunately I can't sell any of the rainbow ones because I don't have anymore of that chain and I'm not able to buy more at this time (I bought it in England). However if you're interested in purchasing ones made with the silver chain, with a cross or another charm on it, let me know. I could custom-fit it to your foot size if you gave me the measurements I needed, it would probably be about $8 for a pair, plus $2 shipping. :)

  1. Those are so pretty! I'm a dancer, though, so my feet already get 'banged up' enough as it is. :)
