Natalie Grant Concert!

The other day, my friend and her mom took me to a Natalie Grant concert!  (To the friend and her mom - you know who you are - if you're reading this, thanks sooo much for letting me come along!  :))  I really enjoyed hearing the songs I hear on the radio (like "Held", "Love Revolution" and "Your Great Name") in "real life"!  It was really neat to hear Natalie Grant talk about her life and inspiration for her songs.  She also sang one epic song I hadn't heard before that really touched me.  It made me think about my mom.  Here's the lyrics:

Desert Song
Natalie Grant

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in the hunger in me
My God is a God who provides.

And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or in pain
There is a faith proved of more worth than gold
So refine me, Lord through the flames

I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

And this is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship...

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow

And...  I'm usually listening to music when I write, so what song am I listening to right now?  You guessed it.  Desert Song by Natalie Grant.  :)

Random Fact: How do you remember the spelling difference between "dessert" and "desert"?  I mean, there's a big difference between a yummy banana split or an apple pie and a barren, sandy, hot wasteland.  Well, my grandma once told me, "Dessert is spelled with two s's because it's way better than a desert!"  :)  Sure, more isn't always better, but in the case of a dessert vs. a desert...  I'd still take the pie.  :D  BUT we don't always get to choose between a dessert and a trial...  so whatever happens, whether you get the banana split or not...  you can remember this awesome verse...

Hebrews 13:5
Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.

Child Evangelism Fellowship has a cool way of remembering this verse, with your hand!  Each of the fingers, starting with your pinky, stands for a word.  "Never...will...I...leave..." But when you get to "you", you use your thumb to point yourself!  :)  Nifty, huh?

Holding onto God's promises,
"Klarabelle"
