Hi, all!
The other day I was singing (that really shouldn't be surprising) either a song from A Tale of Two Cities and Jane Eyre, the Musical. I noticed that both musicals feature prayers which begin with the well-known "Now I lay me down to sleep..." line. I wondered, What do people think of when you say, "I'll pray for you?" Do they think of the "Now I lay me down to sleep" prayer, or perhaps the Lord's prayer? Or maybe praying for something as a kid, but not getting what they asked for? Or perhaps tears shed during a fervent prayer for a relatives' safety and health...a prayer that wasn't answered in the way they hoped.
Sometimes I find it's hard to pray... Sometimes I don't feel like I'm really talking to God, I'm just reciting a long list of prayer requests. But I think it is important to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ and those who do not yet know the Lord. How awesome would it be to show the world that prayer does work!
Our plans don't always turn out the way we hoped, but God has us in His hands. He is working the threads of our lives into something beautiful that we may not even be able to imagine right now. Prayer is so awesome... we shouldn't keep this awesomeness to ourselves - we should tell others about answers to prayers, share prayer requests and let people know how awesome prayer is!
Bye, all! Prayer rocks!

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
John 14:13-14
{Update: This was originally titled, "Prayer - Pt. 1" but apparently I have never written part 2, so...}
I agree, sometimes i find it really difficult to pray earnestly. But when i set wht im doing aside and focus on Jesus, it is mUCH easier:)
